2 the Moon’s Baker to Speak at DEC Network Future Venture Forum

Big ideas deserve big conversations. That’s why we’re excited to announce that 2 the Moon Ventures founder, George Baker, Sr., is going to be a featured panelist at The DEC Network’s Future Venture Forum Part 3, taking place on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 6:00–8:00 PM at D Magazine.

This forum is designed for entrepreneurs, investors, and business leaders who want to stay ahead of the curve in a venture landscape that’s evolving faster than ever. With expert panels, dynamic discussions, and meaningful networking opportunities, the event promises to be a launchpad for fresh ideas and forward-thinking strategies.

Exploring the Future of Venture Development

The entrepreneurial space has always been defined by turbulence. Markets shift, funding models evolve, and industries are disrupted overnight. The Future Venture Forum is about helping founders and funders navigate that turbulence with confidence.

George will join the Local Funder Panel, alongside fellow investors and innovators, to share insights on what it takes to back bold ideas in today’s climate. From lessons learned through building his own companies to perspectives on supporting the next generation of high-impact founders, George brings a wealth of experience to the discussion.

“Anyone who knows me knows my passion for helping build the DFW entrepreneurial support ecosystem from a funding perspective,” said Baker, who launched ParkHub (now JustPark) in 2010. “Fifteen years ago, there were very few tech investors in the area, and when I launched my tech startup, my best choice for funding was to evangelize to investors previously exclusive to oil & gas or real estate. Today, thanks to successful DFW founders who’ve invested back into our community,  our funding landscape is on the right trajectory.”

The panel will be moderated by Bhavna Kumar, who will guide the conversation across key topics such as:

  • How funders evaluate opportunities in a competitive ecosystem.
  • The balance between risk, resilience, and return.
  • What entrepreneurs can do to stand out in today’s capital markets.
  • How innovation in Dallas and beyond is reshaping the venture horizon.

A Gathering of Builders and Believers

Events like the Future Venture Forum serve as mission control for the startup community. They bring together the visionaries, the builders, and the funders who all share one thing: belief in a future that looks different (and better) than today. Whether you’re preparing for your first launch or fine-tuning a rocket already in flight, this event offers actionable takeaways to help you accelerate.

For 2 the Moon Ventures, this gathering is especially meaningful. Our mission has always been about more than capital. It’s about helping founders pivot, persevere, and push past gravity on their journey to scale. Forums like this one create the perfect space for exchanging ideas and forging the connections that fuel breakthrough growth.

Ready for Liftoff

If you’re an entrepreneur, investor, or industry professional looking to expand your orbit, you won’t want to miss this event. The Future Venture Forum Part 3 is a chance to hear directly from local leaders shaping the next era of venture development, while also building the relationships that could power your next big move.
